ECSS 2026 in Lausanne: the C2in1 performance tested live

From July 7 to 10, 2026, CORTEX was at the 31st Annual Congress of the European College of Sport Science in Lausanne. At Booth C11 the C2in1 performance was up and running, and we took measurements on site together with h/p/cosmos.
For the first time in twenty years, the ECSS annual congress returned to Lausanne, hosted by the University of Lausanne and EPFL at the SwissTech Convention Center on the campus above Lake Geneva. From July 7 to 10, in the city that is home to the IOC and more than 50 international sports federations. A fitting place for a congress that brings physiology, biomechanics, psychology, and engineering together under one roof.
We were there with the C2in1 performance, measuring right at the booth together with h/p/cosmos. One of the tests stuck with us. A runner who had only recently returned to structured training after a longer break stepped off the treadmill with a result of 62 ml·kg⁻¹·min⁻¹. A result he himself had not expected.
The questions at the booth came from very different directions: from university research, from applied performance diagnostics, from testing outside the lab. The congress has its focus in sports science, yet the questions behind it vary widely. Much like the three studies we recently wrote about: the examination is the same, the question behind it is different every time.
