Sports medicine cares for patients and healthy individuals with the same metabolic cart. CPET objectively assesses exercise capacity and training status with the same methodology, from diagnostic workup to performance diagnostics.
The examination objectively assesses ventilatory, cardiocirculatory and metabolic performance under defined exercise. It shows whether reduced exercise capacity has an organic cause or reflects training status.
Sports medicine fitness examinations need a solid basis. Peak V̇O₂ and maximum power document exercise capacity as a measured value and make the decision transparent.
VT1 and VT2 from the breath gas analysis define intensity zones that match the measured metabolism. Training recommendations for patients and athletes alike are based on individually measured values instead of rules of thumb.
Differentiated questions need more than a single maximum value. Oxygen kinetics, ExcessCO2 and the combination with lactate values allow the analysis to go into depth.
