    Dose exercise correctly

    VT1 and VT2 from the breath gas analysis define intensity zones that match the patient's actual capacity. Training challenges in a targeted way without overloading.

    Start with a baseline assessment

    The initial measurement shows where a patient actually stands after an event or procedure. The training program thus starts from the measured baseline rather than from a rule of thumb.

    Demonstrate progress

    The repeat measurement shows the change in performance over time. The success of the intervention becomes documentable as a measured value, for the team and for the patient alike.

    Many patients per day

    The metabolic cart has to hold up in a daily routine with tight scheduling. Disposable turbines with no calibration requirement and masks from pediatric to adult sizes keep the changeover time between two examinations short.

VT1
First ventilatory threshold: from this point, CO₂ output rises disproportionately to oxygen uptake.
VT2
Second ventilatory threshold: from this point, minute ventilation rises disproportionately to CO₂ output.
Peak V̇O₂
Highest oxygen uptake measured during the exercise test, absolute or relative to body weight.
Heart rate-power curve
Course of heart rate plotted against power output in a step or ramp protocol.
O2 pulse
Oxygen uptake per heartbeat, calculated from oxygen uptake and heart rate.
