Performance
Explaining endurance performance takes more than times and watts. CPET shows Breath-by-Breath how breathing, circulation and metabolism work together under exercise, in studies and in teaching alike.
Maximum oxygen uptake is the central measure of endurance performance. CPET measures it directly from the breath gases instead of estimating it from heart rate or power.
Two athletes with the same V̇O₂max rarely run equally fast. Thresholds and movement economy show how much of that capacity actually translates into performance.
V̇O₂max, thresholds and economy show whether a training protocol worked. Repeated measurements with the same methodology make the change tangible as a measured value.
Students see in real time how breathing, circulation and muscles respond to exercise. Concepts such as thresholds and oxygen kinetics become comprehensible through their own measured values.

In practice
"We have the advantage that we can also measure directly in the field with the devices, and can therefore relate those results to the performances achieved in the lab."
