Welcome to another Knowledge Nugget presented by CORTEX. Today we'll look at the different connectivity possibilities of CORTEX products with third-party devices. In detail, the content of the video includes different forms of connectivity, such as workload devices and add-ons, and also how these can be configured in MetaSoft Studio.
Since all CORTEX products share the same software, it means that connectivity to external devices is also the same. When considering a workload device, all types of treadmills and bicycles are capable of being configured. Moreover, third-party devices such as oxygen saturation, heart rate and blood pressure monitors and power meters are some examples from an extensive list of products that are compatible with the CORTEX software.
When setting up the software, it is necessary to consult the toolbox in order to configure the initial devices that will assist in completing a CPET test. So once we select the appropriate CORTEX CPET device, we can move on and select the additional equipment that we'll be needing during testing.
Of course, if needed, the initial setup can be edited based on new equipment that you might now have in your possession. Thus we have to consult the toolbox again and make those changes, whether that is removing an ergometer from the configuration list or adding multiple devices based on what is now available in the lab. Very important at this stage is not to skip any steps of the setup process, so take a moment and go through all third-party options.
To conclude, the flexibility of the software allows compatibility not only with the vast majority of ergometers on the market, but it can also interface with more complex instruments such as ECG and cardiac monitoring devices. Initial configuration of all equipment and setup is performed in the toolbox. And lastly, always double-check and make sure that the correct devices of interest are selected. Thank you for watching.
Additions in [square brackets] are editorial. CPET and spirometry support clinical judgment; they do not replace it.
